New Evidence Proves Picasso Used Groundbreaking Color-By-Numbers Technique

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has released new evidence proving that the vast majority of Picasso paintings were painted using the foolproof color-by-numbers technique.

“After years of research, we’re proud to confirm that all of Pablo Picasso’s works of art were created by painting on top of pre-delineated regions that were labeled with numbers that correspond to colors,” stated museum curator Anne Rayman. “Picasso’s work definitely makes a lot more sense to us art historians now because it explains why some of it has such rigid edges and bright colors.”

“We want to make clear that this doesn’t make Pablo Picasso any less of the great genius than we have always believed him to be. In fact, he is likely the best painter-by-numbers who has ever existed.”

Art historians all over the world are now celebrating Picasso as a pioneer of the color-by-numbers technique.

“Seurat had pointillism, Monet had impressionism, and we’ve decided that Picasso must have had color-by-numbers,” explained art historian Horrace Lee. “It sure does explain a lot. How the hell else would he have painted The Weeping Woman?”

Using the new information, critics are now acclaiming the mastery with which Picasso correlated green to all the 3s and stayed within the borders.

At press time, museums around the world had come under fire for trying to chip away the paint and expose the numbers underneath.
